The City of Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the United States. With over 30,000 acres of open space and over 200 miles of trails Phoenix truly stands as the King of the Urban Open Space. The City of Phoenix parks system is referred to as the "Islands of Sonoran Desert within a sea of urban development", the Phoenix Summit Challenge links the island chain into one unbelievable event. The Challenge actually consists of three different events, 1 Day 7 Summits, 2 Day 7 Summits and the 1 Day 4 Summits ... we chose the 1 Day 4 Summits :-) that was more than enough for us.
